As every year, Location Austria was present at the Film Festival in Cannes.

By attending events such as a Round Table about Filming in Austria, the Austrian Happy Hour at the Austrian Film Pavilion (organised by Austrian Film Commissions & Funds) at the Marché du Film or conferences held by the European Audiovisual Observatory (topic: Film Financing: European strategies to boost cultural diversity) as well as numerous individual meetings, our team was able to make new contacts and discuss projects and other news with national and international filmmakers.

Here are some impressions:

Austria, and especially Tyrol, offers German efficacy, the beauty of Switzerland and the charm of Italy.
I really love to return to this place where I truly admire the people, and where it is possible to make films, on location, with a remarkable level of support and infrastructure.

Jean-Jacques Annaud, Director of Seven Years in Tibet
