COVID-19: Rescue Package for COVID-19-related Interruptions and Delays in Shooting Films in Austria

Since Mid-June 2020, it is possible to apply for financial assistance for film and TV productions in which shooting had to be delayed or interrupted as a consequence of COVID-19.

Assistance is available in the form of a grant of up to EUR 2.5 million per production to cover additional costs incurred.
In the case of international service productions funded by FISA (Film Industry Support Austria), this grant equals up to 50 percent of the additional eligible costs incurred in Austria due to COVID-19.

Applications can be submitted until 31 December 2020.

This appropriate measure enables Austria to underline its attractiveness as a film location, especially considering that Austria is one of the very first countries in the world to recognise the necessity of such an initiative to support the film and TV industry.

Testimonials

Seven Years in Tibet © Mandalay Entertainment

Austria, and especially Tyrol, offers German efficacy, the beauty of Switzerland and the charm of Italy.
I really love to return to this place where I truly admire the people, and where it is possible to make films, on location, with a remarkable level of support and infrastructure.

Jean-Jacques Annaud, Director of Seven Years in Tibet
